Victim dead, suspect arrested in San Pablo hacking incident


SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur (May 11, 2018) – The suspect of hacking incident that killed his victim was arrested by the responding personnel of San Pablo Municipal Police Station during their follow-up operation that transpired at Purok Venus, Barangay Culasian, San Pablo of this province on May 10, 2018 at about 7:30 AM.

Investigator on case SPO3 Eleazar F Mantos identified the victim as Roberto Rasonable Y Villamor, 47 years old, married, farmer and resident of Purok Venus, Barangay Culasian, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur. The suspects identified as Eduard Ruiz Y. Saligan, 33 years old, married, farmer and Junrey Ruiz Y. Saligan, single, 20 years old, and both resident of Purok Venus, Barangay Culasian, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur, SPO3 Mantos said.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim ordered a fighter wine to Cristine Tacuge, daughter of Edita Tacuge owner of the store located at Purok Venus, Barangay Culasian of said municipality.

The victim was told by Cristine to wait for a while because her mother was not around, when suddenly the victim got angry to her and attempted to strike using a bamboo stick, Case investigator said.

He said the suspect Eduard Ruiz tried to pacify the victim to calm down, but the victim struck him using a bamboo, which prompted the suspect together with the help of his brother Junrey Ruiz Y Saligan to retaliate using a bolo.

As a result, victim sustained hacked wounds on right neck, right arm, right leg and right portion of the back of his body that resulted to his instantaneous death, He added.

The suspects were arrested by the responding PNP personnel of San Pablo MPS and now temporary detained at San Pablo Municipal Detention Center, while appropriate case for murder is being prepared for filing in court. The motive of the incident believed to be personal grudge, SPO3 Mantos disclosed. (By JONG CADION)
